The Philosophy of Public Relations

Philosophy, PR

Esse est percipi” – To be is to be perceived.

A central idea in philosophy, and one that could very well serve as the guiding principle behind our communication approach at Goodrel.

Public Relations is about much more than visibility. It’s an art form - the art of communicating with such clarity and impact that the outside world listens and engages. It’s about creating resonance between what a company stands for and the perception it leaves behind.

But we must not forget the important addition to George Berkeley’s philosophical statement: “...and to perceive.”

Because PR is not a one-way process. It’s a continuous dialogue between leadership, the brand, and its surroundings — a dynamic that constantly evolves in step with societal changes and the shifting media landscape.

There are many good reasons to consider a PR effort in 2025. A bit of armchair philosophy is probably not one of them.

But the tangible results that arise when you achieve real impact on the right platforms — and actively work to build a strong, authentic reputation — are something that can make a profound difference to the overall energy of a company.
